What I Do?Many people, even my own family and friends have asked me, "What exactly is it that you do?". Rather than just giving the usuall, "I play around with websites," I will explain here what it really is that I do. The term for what I do is a web developer. It is very accurate because I do just that, develop websites. This involves many different aspects. The first is design. DesignWhen I make a website I first decide what my goal for the site is. A goal may be, as in most of the sites I own, to get the visitor to helpful information and display paid advertisements which will then monetize that website as traffic increases. Another goal can be to promote a specific action (CPA) or to give an identity to a product or service (Client Work). Design is an important aspect of any website, big or small.Content WritingAnother important part of developing websites is writing content. The majority of my websites contain unique articles written by myself. Some have general articles that are on many sites. These few articles contain information about the author of the content and a link to their web site. The articles I write are not copied from anywhere. They are created by me by researching topics in forums, the web, books, and other sources and then taking the best and most helpful information and putting it into a quality article. These unique articles are important to the search engines, bringing me to another part of what I do, Search Engine Optimization (SEO).Search Engine OptimizationWhile traffic on some of my sites comes from paid links and advertising, most of the traffic my sites receive is organic traffic coming from search engines, primarily google. This entails on and off=page optimization techniques such as specific methods of naming files, and gaining inbound links to my pages to increase their ranks. Beyond that even, is keyword research, deciding what search terms get searched for the most, and which ones I think are within reach of getting a good rank.
